Some of the areas are connected with outdoor fitness facilities, which the city of Aarhus has established as a part of the city’s focus on health.

One of the places you can enjoy the late spring is in Risskov, which is one of the more popular places to take a walk or run in Aarhus. The small forest lies on the outskirts of town and is one of the places, where outdoor fitness is available. You can enter the forest from Donning Margrethes Vej.

The Botanical Garden is a hilly paradise close to downtown Aarhus and an obvious place to bring a basket of refreshments or go for a run and enjoy the surroundings at the same time. The following link displays a map (in danish) of the garden, the blue arrows mark the entrances and exits. The University park also represents a nice opportunity for those who like hilly terrain when they run. You can enter the park from the intersection of Nordre Ringgade/Randersvej down Nørrebrogade and all the way to Nørregade.

Brabrandstien is an amazing experience for nature lovers, whether you wish to go for a long walk or run alongside Brabrand Lake. The following link offers different route suggestions.

Mindeparken is one of Aarhus largest recreational areas with many paths and varying surfaces, and outdoor fitness is also available at the roundabout where Kongevejen meets Carl Nielsens Vej.
