A Charitable Opening Night
At this year’s SPOT opening the music will be provided by Danish/North-West African singer Nabiha and electronic wizzkid Mike Sheridan, the official opening speech will be held by the Minister for Culture Uffe Elbæk and the proceeds of the ticket sale will benefit Danish Red Cross.
The opening night of SPOT Festival on May 3rd is arranged by The Concert Hall, Aarhus, Jyllands-Posten, Danish Red Cross and SPOT.
The Danish Minster for Culture Uffe Elbæk will open the SPOT Festival 2012 officially with a speech and then Nabiha and Mike Sheridan will open the festival musically.
Mike Sheridan entered the electronic music scene at a young age and released his debut EP when he was only 13 years old. This April Sheridan’s newest album “Ved Første Øjekast” will be released, and the first single called “Håblyst” features power-pop musician Freja Loeb, who is also in the line-up for for this year’s festival.
Nabiha has roots in both Denmark and North West Africa and her bubbling pop music has already gotten international attention. Her debut album “Cracks” from 2010 gave her several nominations for different music awards, and sent her on tour with James Morrison.
The opening takes place May 3rd 19.30 in The Concert Hall/ Musikhuset Aarhus
