BlueSPOT: Four Danish cities in a musical wrestling match at SPOT – and an international trade-off
Once again there will be a musical city battle Friday at Godsbanen when ORA and the SPOT Festival presents BlueSPOT City – and there will be an international collaboration on the BlueSPOT Excite-stage. The next day Aalborg will continue the fun and games.
Last year SPOT and ORA introduced BlueSPOT City – and this year it is back, now at Godsbanen, when a number of bands from four different cities will play on the first day of the festival. This year BlueSPOT City can present bands from Aarhus, Copenhagen, Odense and Esbjerg. Aarhus will provide eight bands and the other three cities will each provide seven acts.
The acts from the four cities are:
From Aarhus: Helmet Compass, Kids of the Wood, Keep Camping, Spit Rusty, All Trays For Venom, Homewrecker, Zeitgeist, Kajsa Vala.
From Copenhagen: Farven Fornem, Death Valley Sleepers, Sofie Viemose, Taras, Travelling Tribes, Less Win. While We Wait.
From Odense: Caper Clowns, Green Fairy, Lee’s Way Out, Son Of Caesar, Ström, We Are, Norrlys.
From Esbjerg: Kabaret Sybarit, Business Stress Express, Anything Goes, Who Is Louis, The Youth, Whores & Thieves, Bumsestilen.
International trade-off
Furthermore, on Friday ORA will present a stage with the name BlueSPOT Excite. Excite stands for Exchange of International Talents in Europe and is a collaboration with Dutch Popfabryk, Belgian Poppunt, Scottish GoNorth and ORA. On this stage the audience can experience Danish Nelson Can, Polaroid Fiction from Belgium, Pioneers of Love from Holland and Cleavers from Scotland.
The four bands will play 40-minute showcases and the idea with the collaboration is that the four bands will later this year play concerts in the four countries that are part of the collaboration.
The City Battle and BlueSPOT Exite takes place at Godsbanen where the five stages, Vogn 1 + 2 and Perron 1 + 2 + 3 will be the setting of the many concerts.

Aalborg also participates – on Saturday
Saturday May 5th Aalborg takes over where BlueSPOT leaves off. The festival Way Up North presents Rune & the Brakemen, Artificial Brothers, Hotboxin Hotdogs, Blodrød Musik, The Hedgehogs and Get Your Gun in a program that reaches from rootsrock over alternative psychrock to hip hop – also with Godsbanen as a base.
