Mads Langer, The Echo Vamper, Klumben & Raske Penge etc.: The 2012 SPOT is almost complete

The complete line-up for the 2012 SPOT Festival is almost in place now. In the pot this time, we have high-voltage guitar explosions, beeping and humming explorations of strange universes and a DJ team from the digital Danish radio channel P6.

In this batch of acts we start out with Mads Langer, who has drawn attention to his brilliant voice and his knack for writing songs with plenty of airplay and countless gigs. Just how gifted a songwriter he really is can be seen from his own melodious ballads as well as his fine rewriting of Olive’s “ You’re Not Alone”. Furthermore, there is Battlekat, a wild, feline electro pop creature who despite tight reins and strict discipline still spits and bares its claws behind an electrified fence of coruscating electronic rhythms and striking melodies.
Icelandic Prinspóló will explore alternative musical roads through a haze of acoustic guitar, noise and Icelandic lyrics while wearing a prince’s crown made of cardboard on his head.

Everything is going to be hysterical when The Echo Vamper show up with their over-the-top rock, and you will also get your money’s worth with Annasaid and their cogent math rock with strong hooks. Shaka Loveless has some seriously groovy reggae up his sleeve, and Klumben & Raske Penge + EaggerStunn will go on stage together in a DJ set-up at a never-ending, sweaty blast of a dancehall party.

Mads Langer confirmed for SPOT

Sakaris has beamed himself into a computer game from the 80s, where he is having a far-out party with Super Mario, Pac Man, Donkey Kong and other pixelated beings. ELOQ takes you on a ride to far-away galaxies with his futuristic astrofunk.

This year’s Tak! Rock band has also been selected: according to the judges there was no doubt last Saturday in the Copenhagen venue Pumpehuset when the indie group Lovespeed had been on stage, proving what a strong unit they are and what a great singer they have.

Finally a P6 BEAT DJ team, a lovely trinity of Carsten Holm, Camilla Jane Lea and Henrik Aagaard, will have an awesome party and play all the songs you love and all the things you didn’t know you were dying to hear.
