SPOT Opening Night: Believe in the dream

SPOT Opening Night: Believe in the dream

Thursday May 3rd and SPOT Festival 2012 has just opened the doors for 3 days of music. The Opening Night of SPOT featured speeches from both the head of SPOT Festival Gunnar K. Madsen and the Danish Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk, and also music by Green Lives, Nabiha and Mike Sheridan.

Director of SPOT Festival Gunnar K. Madsen discribed how the road to reach your dreams  can sometimes be a long and difficult one for a musician. After the speach the local band Green Lives took the stage and played 3 songs, where their vocal harmonies especially left an impression.

The next person on stage was the Danish Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk who talked about the influence and importance of SPOT Festival as being a unique festival that manages to give something to the both the business side of the music industry as well as the  audience.

The second musical act was Nabiha who gave a concert filled to the brim with  pop and a powerfull voice and followed by Mike Sheridan that took the darkend stage with a pianist, a violinist, cellist and a drummer/percussionist.

This was a performance which created a dreamy mixture of electronic, avantgarde jazz and neo-classical music. A very interesting experience for the audience to witness.

After this last act the SPOT Festival was most definately in the air.
