In Dangers of the Sea’s melodious and guitar-based universe sparkling indie pop meets melancholic folk rock. The band was formed in 2010 by Andreas Bay Estrup, who brought together musicians from bands like Saybia and Efterklang. They find their inspiration in 60s and 70s folk rock as well as R.E.M AND Midlake. In the spring of 2011 the band was selected for the P3 Career Canon, and they are now adding the finishing touches to their debut EP. German Masha Qrella is going to be Dangers of the Sea’s musical playmate. Her 2002 debut album as a solo artist was a singer-songwriter affair. On her second album she covered Kurt Weill and Frederic Loewe. Now she is working on a new album entitled “Analogies”, and her you’ll get Masha Qrella’s version of pop, which is really a mix of folk and indie rock.
