The Iranian/Danish duo Rosemary take on the often conflict-ridden meeting of the Middle East and the West. With nods to disco, a popular genre in Iran in the 70s, and with female vocals, which were banned after the Iranian revolution in 1979, Danish Lasse Martinussen and Iranian-born Sahar Pour create stylish, at times hysterical and fundamentally wistful and synth-driven pop.
