Good news for pop- boys and girls: Alphabeat is dropping by SPOT to make festive “letter exercises” with catchy words and happy rhythms. Alphabeat’s latest single – the upbeat and fresh song “Vacation” –radiates pure holiday-mood and sunshine. Give me a D as in D-vitamin! Hannah Schneider, Naja Rosa and Venue Lab – pop, experiments and a healthy mix of both at SPOT

At SPOT there is room for catchy pop, new modes of presentation and unpredictable experiments. Check out a package of no less than nine acts at Atlas and a concert experiment at Radar with brand new songs – written only days before SPOT.   The first act in the package at Atlas is Naja Rosa, who will present the fruits of her journey through the American south, where a mobile home, rebuilt for the occasion, hosted recording sessions with quite a few heavenly blessed American blues musicians. We will also present Ignug, who will serve a...

Christopher, Aura Dione and Veronica Maggio to SPOT – and Savage Rose!

Easter is approaching and instead of handing out chocolate eggs, the SPOT Festival adds 13 new acts to the festival line-up. However, like a kinder surprise egg there is more than one surprise inside. The pop genre will have some fine ambassadors at SPOT – for instance Christopher who comes to Aarhus with his brand new release “Colours” and his energetic live band. “He is going to be huge” and similar predictions about Christopher are frequent in the Danish music press. It looks like a massive pop feast at SPOT, and the same goes for...

Mads Langer, The Echo Vamper, Klumben & Raske Penge etc.: The 2012 SPOT is almost complete

The complete line-up for the 2012 SPOT Festival is almost in place now. In the pot this time, we have high-voltage guitar explosions, beeping and humming explorations of strange universes and a DJ team from the digital Danish radio channel P6. In this batch of acts we start out with Mads Langer, who has drawn attention to his brilliant voice and his knack for writing songs with plenty of airplay and countless gigs. Just how gifted a songwriter he really is can be seen from his own melodious ballads as well as his fine rewriting of Olive’s...
